Recently, I got a new job that came with a 2 hr commute so I went to the library to get an audiobook to listen to and came across this book, Daisy Darker by Alice Feeny. I had heard of the author, but had never read any of her books and this book sounded interesting.
Daisy Darker’s Nana is a famous book author who doesn’t want to be bothered with people much so she lives on an island that becomes inaccessible for 8 hrs after high tide. It’s her birthday, Halloween, so she invites all of the family there to celebrate. The family had been a bit estranged for years so this was a family reunion of sorts.
All is well, but then the family members start to get killed off one by one which is terrifying because no one can leave. They start to wonder if it is one of them or has someone stealed into the house without their knowledge and is now taking them out.
The book seems to be inspired by the Agatha Christie’s book 'And Then There Were None'. It will keep you guessing until the very end. Loved this book and give it 5 stars. Definitely putting this author on my list of TBR. Also, a side note about the audiobook. It is read by someone with a lovely British accent as the book is based in that area. A definitely plus.
